Laparoscopic trocar and camera lens, 2002. Donor Rick Roesner.
Laparoscopes

A grandchild of the cystoscope, the laparoscope allows surgeons to perform minimally invasive surgical procedures. During laparoscopic surgery, surgeons are able to use trocars placed in the patient through small incisions to remove cancerous tissue, repair hernias and remove organs for transplant and other major operations.

The Didusch Center's collection of laparoscopic instruments began with a single donation in 1998 and has grown to nearly 60 instruments.
