With over 2,500 books in the collection, the William P. Didusch Museum boasts one of the largest urologic libraries in the world. Ranging from handwritten notebooks to leather-bound printed tomes, and starting with Opera Ambrosii Parei Regis primarii et parisiensis chirurgi from 1582 by Jacques Guillemeau, a student of Ambroise Paré, the library documents advancements in urologic treatment, theory and understanding. This extensive collection of antique medical books includes handwritten laboratory notebooks from Hugh Hampton Young, considered by many to be the Father of American Urology. Books from the collection are available to review in the Didusch Center library.
