AUA Summit - History Forum

History Forum

History Forum

The History of Urology Forum is an annual 4-hour session (approximately 21 podium presentations and 12 posters) that disseminates historical information on the development of urology including the history of instruments, the development of major surgical and medical advances in the treatment of urologic diseases, and biographical information on significant individuals in the field of urology.

The Forum, which evolved from a History Club in 1965, includes the 30-minute Bicknell Lecture, an invitational presentation named after Frank Bicknell, a founder of the History Forum. The speaker is specifically chosen by the AUA History Committee to speak at greater length on a subject oftentimes related to the AUA's annual history exhibit.
